judyblume14 I really don't know what I am doing. I read to her a lot and talk to her a lot but that's about it. I get so many daily grunts and whining periods when she can't say or sign it.

Hi everyone! Checking back in after months away. Things here are good. Finley is a busy little bee, always getting into everything. He also shows a disturbing talent for climbing. And my big just turned 4! The attitude is also disturbing...

Who else here has a 3 or 4 year old? And how do you keep yourself from throwing them out a window? Asking for a friend. Is throwing them out a window an option???? OMG to the attitude and meltdowns. I'm seriously considering full day preschool for next year. Or at least 5 mornings a week

Are your LOs talking much? When DD was a baby she had a handful of words by 1 and was making 3 word sentences shortly after that. B babbles a lot but doesn’t even really say mama or dada with any consistency. I know kids develop at different paces, but I can’t help notice how much slower he is at it than DD was. F doesn't consistently talk. I've heard him say mama, doggy, maybe Reece, but he does say dis (this). And he calls us both Dada. We've been doing a bit more sign language lately, and he's picking up on it quickly. Right now we're working on water and up. He's a pro at milk. Last night he was crying in his crib and I was trying to comfort him. He pitifully looked up at me and signed milk. It was adorable. And made me feel guilty for denying his specific request.

Hey missd! Dd is a climber too. She's going to be the daredevil that gives me a heart attack. It snowed a little last night but it's not going to stick around long. Everything looks so pretty. It means the bird feeder is hopping. The other day was warm so I took the kids to the arboretum to walk on the paved paths since the playgrounds are mud pits. I saw a pileated woodpecker and blue bird! It's been a chill weekend. We went over to the inlaws and did our taxes yesterday. I pulled out the next size and summer clothes for both kids to see what they'll need. Mh has tomorrow off and has scheduled a couple meetings with roofers. I'm glad he'll be here for it because that's a price tag I wouldn't want to see by myself!

I went for a pedicure today, it was so nice just to do something for me. H had hockey tonight so I was solo with E for bedtime. I tell her not to stand on her toys, she gets down smiles and goes ok to her anywhere chair and stands on it smiling and clapping. I have off tomorrow I am hoping it's nice so I can at least take her for a walk.
Here is yet another one of my weird FTM questions. How do you keep up with the floors in your kitchen? They are so gross from E eating. We sweep up after every meal and steam on the weekends. I just got a swiffer wet jet hoping that helps in between steaming during the weekday. I really don't have the energy to steam or mop daily.

+1 to the cleaning capabilities of our dog missd! peaseblossom55 I keep the DustBuster out for crumby messes and use wipes for sticky messes on a daily basis. Then do a deeper clean/wipe down when needed. Due to the room set up the high chair is kind of in a corner so I have to wipe down the walls. I can't wait until this stage is over!

+1 to letting my dog handle mealtime cleanup. We eat in our dining room and since we don’t go in there other than during mealtimes, I don’t really care that the floors aren’t super clean. It gets mopped every other week when the cleaning people come. I have never been mistaken for a clean freak 🤷🏻♀️

We do a quick sweep after meals. And try to swiffer weekly. It's probably more like every other week. Hiiii missd! Re: roofing. Holy hell. We got smacked with sticker shock in the fall. We decided to go on a fancy vacation instead. And cross our fingers that the roof doesn't blow off before September when we plan on getting it replaced this year.

In this case, my anxiety served me well and the roof estimates are lower than I was envisioning. It's still a lot but it needs to be done. It's definitely on it's last leg and as far as we know, there's been no leaking. Fingers crossed it stays that way once they take everything off.
Speaking of kitchen floors, mine is super clean this morning! Man, when Pyrex Tupperware shatters, it shatters. Nothing like picking up glass shards before 8am.

We had to replace our roof within a few months of buying our current house. That was not fun. I feel your pain at the sticker shock. That was a hard pill to swallow.

We are finalizing with the contractor the new roof and I have better things to do with that five figures. Like redo a bathroom.

I'd rather renovation the addition which has the family room plus a full bath. It has a hideous drop ceiling that is the bane of my existence. I joke by the time we can legitimately do the reno all at once, we'll be sending the kids to college. But I don't think I'm actually joking that much.

I had a series of bizarre dreams last night. Highlights included being at the wedding of a former good friend of both mh and I (who essentially ghosted us in real life and then texted us the morning of our wedding that she wasn't coming) and carrots bringing me dinner which consisted of 3 chicken dishes. I'm going to the township offices today to get a permit for the roof. Looks like should be happening next week. Eeeeeeeeek. Mh has a business dinner tonight so it will be solo bedtime for me. I'm trying to decide what I want for dinner. Normally when he's oot I do I fancy cheese and olive dinner. I'm not sure that I'm feeling that tonight. I'd love Thai food but they don't deliver.

We can't decide on a daycare. It's between one center that has a tadpole app and cameras in the classroom and a great school otherwise without the app or a cameras. We are so used to having cameras to check in her during the day. I also hate that is a consideration the other school without the camera is an amazing daycare.
