Random bc I'm so bored and wish one of you were in my office to hang out with me, I feel like there are a lot of people having their second boy on this board. As a mom of two boys, I ❤️ this.

duskymonkey Sorry to hear about your cervix contracting and measuring short. Did they see any funneling? I hope your MFM is able to give you some reassurance and come up with a plan - preterm labor risk is always worrisome. Bedrest also sucks and I hope you can avoid it. Fingers crossed you get good news at your next appointment. I don't think so since my OB didn't mention it and said to make an appt.with the MFM within the next week or 2. Bedrest would suck. Not sure how i can pull it off caring for DS when my folks go back home in August and I'll be off work that month to deal with him. Thanks and I hope it's due to my short torso and being short in general. Meh! This never came up the last time and now I want to contact my RE to see if they still have my records since they;re super meticulous about everything but things could've obv. changed in the course of 3-4 yrs. mkrupar , Is there a reason they only want you to gain 15 lbs? In general, that seems very much on the low side of the weight gain spectrum. Because I'm already overweight, so they only expect 15, 20 at the highest. It was the same with my last pregnancy. That's rough to pull off. Sorry you have to deal with that. Hope you have a good appt. today and baby is on track! SaveSave

I seriously had no preference for one sex over the other with this 2nd. But I'm really excited for another boy. They will be 4 years apart but I still hope they'll be best friends.

Well....here's a doozy. I am waiting for proofers feedback on a project I am working on so decided to log into my health records to see the AS info and I am SO MAD! They said they wouldnt put the gender in my records and they did! So we're having another boy! I am so disappointed not because it;s a boy but hubs and I really just didn't want to know. Now I have to keep it a secret from him until October! How the eff am I going to keep my mouth shut!. Side note, Guess if it was a girl, she wouldn't be subjected to all of DS' race car jammies and shirts and boyish clothing. But yes! I am that mom that will put the girl in DS hand me downs x4 lol! 90% of DS' clothing are from my 2 nephews. Well guise! We're team blue. just don't tell anyone else outside of here.

Yes... I am excited though since they would be able to share their toys and I won't have to get into dolls and stuff like that. I think boys toys are so much more fun than girls Although boys clothing are b.o.r.i.n.g and girls have much cuter outfits and plus also I could sew super cute rompers and dresses for the girl but oh well...Now to keep my big mouth shut. That is going to be the rough part.

But that's really good of you to let him still have the surprise! Are you going to tell him that you know?

I would have loved two boys. I'm not into pink or frilly stuff at all so I actually love shopping for boys clothes. Supposedly we're having a girl but I'm not fully convinced. A/S will confirm next week. She'll definitely be wearing DS's stuff.

Undecided! I'm leaning towards finding out but telling no one except my BFF and you guys! No one else would even know that I know. I think the whole sneaky thing is too much for me. My H would not want to know. I think I've earned the right to find out if I need a little time with the news before the rest of the world. If I do this, you guys get to know!

Exciting!! I think that's the way to go if you find out but don't want others to know, is to not even tell anyone else that you know (except your BFF and us, of course). If you slip up and use a pronoun you can just play it off.

duskymonkey, how frustrating!! I wanted to know the sex right away but DH wanted to wait until everyone else knew (he's terrible at keeping secrets). There existed a full 2 hours where I knew and he didn't. I couldn't keep it to myself. If it's hard for you, you should tell him you know - but by accident!

I don't feel really bonded or connected yet either. I'm trying to remember how it felt last time. I think the more I prepared for the pregnancy (buying baby clothes, setting up nursery) I started to feel more connected but still not really until he was born. I haven't bought a single thing or done anything to prepare for this one yet, so maybe that's partly it. Oh yeah, we've only gotten a handful of things, partly because we're moving and I don't want to move a bunch of ish. I think the other part is not yet feeling bonded, so I'm meh when I think about buying clothes and such.

AYA - After Your Appointment
How was it? Growth US and follow up pics of face, heart and stomach. Baby was being stubborn again, and was face down, so it took some maneuvering to get everything the tech needed.
Learn anything new? Baby is in the 46% percentile based on measurements.
New feels/vents/etc.? Nothing really. Next US will be June 27th.

AYA - After Your Appointment
How was it? Normal weekly check with my MFM - vaginal ultrasound to measure cervix length (I'm still doing ok on that!) and regular ultrasound to look at baby, SCH, amniotic debris, and membranes. Baby is growing right on track and is very active, so that's good! The doctor is still worried that the blood from the SCH is seeping through and digesting my membranes, which isn't good. We're just hoping my water doesn't break before 24 weeks. Each week after that is a blessing for us.
Learn anything new? Not really - things are kind of the same, my body seems to be hanging in there, and baby is growing well.
**TW** loss feels New feels/vents/etc.? Nothing new really...every time we go and see the baby, I get renewed fears of loosing him. I love him so much, and the thought of losing him, because my body could not carry him long enough, is just really sad and scary. So I try not to think about that or dwell on it - each week is a victory! Gotta stay positive 🙂

Taitai, Sending you all of the hugs! Take it one week at a time - like you said each week is a small milestone, but a huge victory.

AYA- After Your Appointment
How was it? Good baby cooperated, so they were able to get everything they needed for the anatomy scan.
Learn anything new? Nope baby was uncooperative, maybe it's a girl but it's inconclusive.
New feels/vents/etc.? I'm kind of relieved that we didn't find out, I don't want to deal with the feelings because as much as I don't truly care I know either way there will be this slight inkling of disappointment.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I'm 21 weeks today (Friday here already). Once I hit 24 weeks, I'll feel better. I mean, having a baby at 24 weeks is far, far from ideal, but at least he'd have a chance. I just need to keep this little guy cooking 🙂
