This is the place for us newbies to ask the vets what to spend money on.

I am looking for recommendations on bed side bassinets, specifically non-shared. I'm open to one that is divided, but will most likely buy two of the same kind.

I'm also looking for advice on a breast feeding pillow. Do I need one? I am reading good things about the my breast friend but worried that the velcro closure is too noisy.

I loved the my breast friend with DS1 but mine did not have a Velcro closure it had a plastic clip, maybe they’ve changed the design to Velcro. With the twins I use a twin z and I love it. Full disclosure though: I am not nursing I’m EPing due to them being so premature. However I can arrange them on the pillow as if they were nursing and use bottles? Also it was a gift from a. Friend, I’m not sure if I’d have been able to convince myself to buy it... anyway it reminds me a lot of the my breast friend pillow only twin size. I hope this was coherent. It’s 4am between feeds 😂

I nursed with a regular boppy in the beginning. I ended up EP’ing and supplementing with formula cause I couldn’t keep up and I couldn’t manage nursing and then bottle feeding afterwards. The boppy was helpful for propping during bottle feeds but i preferred to tandem bottle feed in their bouncy chairs. The twins went straight into their cribs in their own rooms after a short stint of sleeping in their bouncers in the living room so I have no advice in bedside bassinet type things.

Will definitely be buying a second bouncy chair for this reason, thanks!

I like the twin z as well. I only pumped though (loosely tried nursing but mine were also premature and we just never got the hang of it/it was too much work).

I just did two matching bassinets. It was by chance that they matched - we had one from the first kid, and my mom found the second at a garage sale. They are just basic bassinets. I have them next to the wall, with space between the bed and them. I saw no advantage to having them both super right next to the bed. They sound so very alike when they cry that even to this day I can't tell them apart. I have to get up and check to see who is making noise.

If there are items that you are going to buy two of, like bouncers or swings, consider that you might not want identical items. You may find that one of your babies loves a particular item while the other has little interest in it. Having 2 different items also adds variety which can be helpful. Before our babies were born we bought at least 1 of each item we anticipated needing. After that, Amazon was my friend. If I felt I needed a second of anything, I clicked a few buttons and it was here in 2 days.
I can't say enough good things about the double Snap N Go frame stroller we had when the babies were infants. That thing was amazing. Lightweight, opened and closed with one hand, and enabled me to not have to take the babies out of their car seats when we were out and about. What a life saver. It was wonderful for traveling too.

I also use the twin z and love it. I EP but use it to help with bottle feeding, tummy time, and now practicing sitting.
I agree with having different bouncy chairs. One likes the swing of a momaroo while the other likes the fisher price bouncy seat.
I had a mini crib with my first and it worked well so we have 2 mini cribs for the twins. They are in our bedroom and have slept in them pretty much from the beginning.

aydee and happyfeet9, thanks for bringing the different bouncer idea to my attention. That was something I hadn’t considered but it makes total sense.
