I broke into the Prosecco before noon. 😳
Dd is now napping and we are already snacking on various things. DS is loving his sparkling apple cider.
I’m worried about fireworks here too. We are usually at my parents cabin up north and it is very quiet, no fireworks. Every year when we come home the remnants of the neighbors fireworks are outside our house in the street. DS’s window is in the front of the house and DD’s not far from there. I will not be happy if they think they are setting off fireworks directly in front of DSs window this year. We will be having a conversation. Also a bit worried about the dog. She’s heard random one offs but not nonstop fireworks. I hope she handles it ok.

crimsonandclover I’m impressed. Did you have a party or what? We were suppose to clean up our rental, but current tenant is taking his sweet time leaving. I suppose he has until midnight. Problem is my motivation to clean and repair dried up two hours ago and my sitter left. Lovely. NYD will be spent with al the kids over there doing repairs. Fan-freaking-tastic.

dizzycooks that sucks you weren’t able to make any progress today. I can’t remember...do you have renters lined up already? We had fun doing our little kid NYE. The neighbors all busted out their fireworks as soon as dusk hit. Dd hated it so I got her ready for bed. While she was in the bath major neighbor drama ensued. All the older ladies were out yelling at the fireworks people and threatening to call the police. It was kinda funny. Everything died down on our street early enough that dd was able to fall asleep. I still hear stuff going off but I think I have enough white noise going on in her room to drown it out.

I was actually ready for bed at 8:15, but then my mom (who is visiting) and my DH decided to put in Hacksaw Ridge and I god hooked, and when it was done it was already 10:30. Since we had told the kids they could get up at midnight to watch the fireworks (here most cities don't do them but regular people buy big fireworks and set them off... fun night for the volunteer firefighters like DH), it didn't really make sense to go to bed. So I stayed up. Sorry about you having to do repairs on NYD

I was in bed before 10:30 last night. I think The community hall down the road was doing fireworks, but we're far enough away that it just sounded like dull thuds. Our city, and a couple of others in the province cancelled their fireworks displays due to extreme cold, but we weren't planning to go anyway. Too many late nights in the last week already.

Happy new year! We made it to midnight then dd was up from 4-6 m. Ain’t that how it goes. She had a stuffed up nose. She went back to sleep on me from 6-8.
Hope everyone had a great Nye and has a great 2018!

scorpioscuba our new renter moved in at noon today. We got up at 6am and took the girls over and worked until 1230. We got an amazing amount of work done, but I am shot.
