Welcome to the bi-weekly POM check-in. This is a thread to share in the unique challenges of parenting multiples. All are welcome whether you've just delivered or you've got multiples headed to college. Pregnant POMs, feel free to pop in if you have questions as well, we want to continue to foster relationships with all POM's and help you gain confidence as you start your new adventure as a POM soon.
- How old/combo (gg/bb/bg/etc) are your multiples?
- How's it going, any upcoming Dr Appts or milestones you'd like to discuss?
- Do you have any questions or concerns that you'd like advice on?
- Any feeding specific questions regarding nursing, FF, solids, weaning, etc?
- QOTW: How do you decide the division of chores in your home? When will/did you involve your children in them?

- B/G twins, they'll be two on 6/25 - I have this huge list of questions/concerns to address with the Dr at their 2 yr appt. It's going to be so freeing to finally get through it. - We're just plugging along over here, enjoying the fun times (because this age can be SO fun) and trying not to let the difficult times get us down. (Read: Tantrums. FML they are epic) - I'm still struggling to get J to eat much of anything. Some days he eats a single bowl of cereal and that's it. I know he won't starve himself, but it's so frustrating. I give options, always have a favorite for him, and yet, he just tells me "no!" knocks back his milk and says "all done." I will gladly take all words of wisdom, advice, and hair pats. - QOTW: Randomly enough, MH and I enjoy doing the things the other hates so it was easy to work out who did what. He takes out the garbage, mows the lawn, and cleans the bathrooms. I maintain the living spaces and do laundry. As for the kids, every since they learned about and started participating in "clean up time" at their music class I have included them in "clean up time" at home. They help us pick up the playroom before bed each night and I've recently started having them "clean up their messes" if they spill something or make a mess of their eating space and they love to throw their diapers away. I also always give them a towel to "help" when I wash windows and they think it's fun to unload the dishwasher by handing me the dishes. (I always unload the knives before they help) When they play at the water table I give them the brushes I use for dishes and we "wash" their play dishes together. For now they enjoy helping and learning how to do such things and I hope to continue to foster pride in doing so. My Mom actually sent me this great chore chart recently that I think I will use as reference going forward: Granted, not all of them make sense, but definitely a great list of ideas to get them started.

- How old/combo (gg/bb/bg/etc) are your multiples? B/G twins - 4 months
- How's it going, any upcoming Dr Appts or milestones you'd like to discuss? Just had 4 month appt this week. Doctor said we can start cereal next month "to get them used to a spoon"...huh? Nope. This is the part of our move I really miss is our old pedi. This guy is #2 and still not in love.
Tonight is night 3 of putting twins to bed in their cribs. So far not going good. How many days (please don't tell me weeks). Did it take to make the transition from RnP to crib?
- Do you have any questions or concerns that you'd like advice on? See above RnP to crib transition.
- Any feeding specific questions regarding nursing, FF, solids, weaning, etc? Nope
- QOTW: How do you decide the division of chores in your home? When will/did you involve your children in them? I like to cook so I do all of that excluding grilling. We split cleaning and DH mows while I water plants and weed the landscaping.

winegirl9, when we transitioned to cribs from the RnPs at 4.5 months, the first couple of nights sucked. They (mostly G) would startle themselves awake I assume because of the wide open space. On the third night, I decided to put them together in one crib (even though I never had that intention from the start). They slept amazingly. We would watch G startle awake and then reach over and pet L's hair, which comforted him, and he'd go back to sleep. It was enough to make your heart burst! Anyway, after about 3 weeks, they started to roll, so we separated them. Zero transition. They did great!

I probably wouldn't try them together at this point if you're seeing improvement and they've started rolling. It would just make me too nervous, but I know some people don't mind. Mine love to belly sleep, so maybe they'll find that they like it, too, with this newfound skill! 😊

DH am Dragging i we're talking about putting in their bellies to see if that helps. I'm just nervous to do that at night until they roll themselves. Why do babies just make things so hard for us to guess at??!!

My nervousness wouldn't let me put them to sleep on their bellies until they showed me they could roll both ways on their own...but once they got there, it was a game changer!

+1 to belly sleeping being a game changer, STTN started for ours once that happened. As for how long to RNP to crib transition took our duo, it was about five days before they seem settled. Good luck winegirl9! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
