I finally started wrapping last night. I'm about halfway done. I got H an outdoor BBQ island type thing that was delivered to my parents house. At this point I have no clue how I'm going to get over there to get it. Or even if the box will fit in my SUV. I can put it together while he is working Saturday night but then I have to try to hide it for 2 nights. It is...BIG.

I missed @kelltothekell 's announcement - congratulations!!! And does anyone know how @kreardon's birth went? How are the twins? My stomach is feeling more settled today, but I have a horrendous headache, probably from dehydration and caffeine withdrawal. Her update on Facebook said they are eating and sleeping well. They are named n.oah and gra.yson. I think they were 5lbs and 5 lbs 10 oz Thank you!!

@kelltothekell my house still sick too! Thank god for amazon prime, target and Kohl’s free shipping. I am exhausted, but gifts are at least purchased. I’m spending today doing laundry. Maybe the kids will watch a show while I fold. I sold a piece of furniture this morning and they are picking it up tonight so I can start working on dd and ds’s room after Christmas. I am just overwhelmed by tasks lately and I’m trying hard to prioritize, but dang...struggling for sure. It’s not helping me to know that dhs busy season starts in a week and he’ll basically be home to sleep. I think we decided what to do for dd3s bday though! The big girls want to take her to build a bear and get her a bear like they have and then we are going out to lunch. I’m excited

We celebrated the solstice tonight. Hubs much prefer that to xmas. We had a lovely dinner and my mom and aunt were here. I got most of my Christmas shopping accomplished today as well. Odds and ends are all that's left. Much needs to happen at work the rest of this week though so grindstone here i come. Also so happy to see kreardons twins healthy and on the outside. That is a great Christmas gift!

H and I got most of our shopping finished today. He still has to shop for me and I need to get his stocking stuffers, so we're doing that tomorrow. We went to S's Christmas comedy tonight. It was cute. M lasted just long enough to see S's class and then she was just done. It was Bedtime, it was hot, she was bored, she didn't want to be sitting... We should've found a sitter.

Aaaarrrggghghh! My H is driving me nuts. He is about to make his THIRD trip to the grocery store today because he keeps forgetting to put things on his list.
And earlier he left “real quick” to grab a last minute present and was gone for 4 hours.
This happens every year, so I should probably stop being surprised/annoyed by it, but come on! Get it together, yo.

H and I finished up the last of our shopping today. He took forever, so while we were waiting I took M to the play place at the theme park in the mall. I still have to go out tomorrow with my dad and sister to help him shop for my Mom. I'm going to start wrapping tonight since I'm going to be busy tomorrow.

Omg. I know I have mentioned my H’s flaky cousin’s family to you guys before. They have two small kids close to our kids’ ages, and I actually get along with his wife really well, but they are sooooo weird and lazy.
They are coming over tomorrow for an early Christmas lunch. Earlier in the week when we figured out our plans she asked if she could bring anything. I said maybe some fruit or other kid-friendly side. She just text and asked if she could bring stew since they made it for dinner tonight and have a lot of leftovers.
Isn’t that weird? Or am I being weird?
I already have a beef/noodle bake prepped and am making a spinach salad and cookies. I don’t want to deal with serving stew too...

I basically said we would have plenty of food and mentioned I had already prepped the main. She then replied asking if she could bring Cheetos.

I just got off the phone with my friend who is 26 and found out this week she has an inoperable incurable brain tumor. It's a.005% chance that this tumor appears in anything other than a baby. I didn't ask before she had to go but I am guessing she doesn't have a lot of time as her symptoms (headaches) came on pretty suddenly and progressed rapidly over the past month. It's just such fucking shit. I don't know what to say. Or do. I know there isn't anything I can do per se, I just don't want to say the wrong thing. Sorry to be a downer. I just needed to brain dump this since hubs is asleep.

nellieoleson CHEETOS!?!? ETA Cheetos are never an acceptable side to bring to a dinner. In any circumstance. Gross.

That's one of those things I can't get over here (or only at exorbitant prices from online import shops), so I'd be thrilled!! LOL! But yeah, not so much in the US

For the record, I like Cheetos, but they are about as far away as you can get from my suggestion of fruit - and gave me the impression she was just looking in her cupboard for something to bring so she didn’t have to go to the store. She ended up bringing a baguette and a couple delicious cheeses. And they were only 20 minutes late, which is basically a record for timeliness for them.

i made peppermint bark tonight. It was maybe a semi success. I burned some of the white chocolate so only made half what I intended. Since it is my intended gift to family and sisters ILs who holiday with us I need to quick come up with some more edibles. Chocolate chili dusted almonds?? I also bought the stuff to make chocolate croissants for xmas morning. I originally intended to do from scratch, but I am going to save that adventure for another day. Hopefully pre-made croissant dough isn't a total disappoint. Apart from that I am super excited to be gifting my mom and sister a gift certificate to this really awesome little studio that my friend started. She offers classes in all sorts of crafty things from macrame ornaments to wine tasting. Anyway there is a floral design one from a really creative local florist that is right up their alley. You guys have anything you are excited about gifting?
